These wonderful ladies are hosting a screening of The Hooping Life, an independent film, to benefit Youth Villages.  Join the team and other hoop enthusiasts at the Memphis Botanic Garden in My Big Backyard on Saturday, August 4, 7pm-11pm.

The event is open to the public (all hoopers and humans alike!) Get your tickets HERE. $15 in advance/ $20 at the door.  All proceeds benefit Youth Villages.

 

 Keep your eye out for the Hooper Troopers at the Memphis Farmer's Market, at The Cooper-Young Festival (Booth E20), and hoop play dates at the Memphis Botanic Garden.

Let's Scream

'Scream for me , Memphis!

Thanks to good ole President Ronald Reagan in 1984, we are encouraged to celebrated July as National Ice Cream Month, especially July 15- National Ice Cream Day.

Last year, I recruited 30 sponsors who agreed to "take me on an ice cream date" and for the entire month, I ate a serving of ice cream everyday.  It's not as easy as you'd think-that's a lot of dairy, y'all. About half-way through the month I started to order my servings in child size, milkshake form. I'm lactose intolerant, but that's never stopped me from eating ice cream because ice scream makes me happy. The way I see, that's how life should be.

People asked me WHY? I simply answered WHY NOT. So thank you to all of my sponsors last year. What an ice screamin' blast. Here's a couple of pictures from last year.

This year, instead of consuming all of the ice cream- I've asked friends to send me their ice cream pictures! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who loves this perfect summer time treat.
