My favorite watering hole in Nashville:

Antique shop in Nashville specializing in bookcases, card catalogs, secretaries, credenzas, and desks. Once filled with many leather bound books, I'm sure.

Man, I wish this belonged to me.

Another sweet lamp find. It's a three light level brass touch lamp.

This was taken at 3am while my upstairs neighbor moved furniture.

Celebrating Memorial Day the right way.

To close out the month, I  decided to finally do laundry. I met a man named Jerry at Wash World. This was my Facebook status on Memorial Day:

I met a Vietnam Veteran named Jerry yesterday at Wash World. "I have so much laundry and dirty laundry ain't sexy. I may be old, but I gotta stay sexy." I was wearing my 'Made in the Philippines' shirt and that's how the stories about Vietnam and the Philippines started. We shared some fruit and a sandwich I packed and while we were eating in the sauna of a building, he started to cry. He told me he was just as thankful for that fruit and that half sandwich as he was for his entire life. "Be thankful for everything, Claudine. Good shit and bad shit. It makes you who you are, you know? Everyday, give thanks to the God that you worship. And if you don't have a God, find one. There's too much in life to think it's just about you." Two hours later, with a drenched back, sweaty forehead, and clean laundry, I helped him take his things to the van full of Veterans en route to the cemetery off Jackson Ave. He asked me to tell the "internet" to "be thankful for their barbeques, boats, and bikins because it's more than just a three day weekend. We're talking about my friends, my family who gave their lives. Blood, soul, sweat, tears. And now damn laundry." So here it is folks. Words of Wisdom from Wash World: Do your laundry, Be thankful everyday, Find and Love God.

This post is dedicated to Jerry. Thank you. Until next time. :)
